K08 In Person Grant Writing Workshop

Tuesday, March 18, 2025, from 3:00–5:00 PM at the Parnassus campus.

This workshop will focus on reviewing and refining the Aims Page of your grant proposal.
Snacks and drinks will be provided, and we will be giving away Yeti coffee mugs to all participants!

Workshop Format:

  • Participants will be divided into small groups, each facilitated by a faculty mentor (listed below).
  • During the session, we will collaboratively review and provide constructive feedback on each participant’s draft Aims Page.
  • The workshop will conclude with a Q&A session.

  • Please include your name and department at the top of your Aims Page.

Registrants will receive additional details, including the workshop location, group assignments, and Aims Page drafts for review, a few days before the session.

Navigating the Academic Faculty Job Market Panel Discussion & Social Hour

Thursday, May 13, 2025, 3:30-6:30 PM at Mission Bay Campus

We are excited to invite you to the PSCDP in-person panel discussion on “Navigating the Academic Faculty Job Market” on Thursday, May 13, 2025, 3:30-5:00 PM at Mission Hall, 2nd Fl, Room 2103. The discussion will be followed by a social hour at Spark Social, 5:00-6:30 PM.

The panel includes former UCSF laboratory-based physician-scientist fellows who are in faculty positions here and at other institutions. They will share their experience navigating the academic job market and answer your questions. We will also have representatives from UCSF Department/Division leadership who can provide the perspective of selecting, hiring, and supporting physician-scientists coming into independent faculty positions.
